Families I love!

In November, I got to take a little break and head up to Solvang for a few days.  While there, I got the privilege of snapping some shots of the Caplan family.  I went to high school with Robyn and loved getting to take pictures of she and Brian and their beautiful kids: Boe, Kacy, and Cole. Along with a photogenic family, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful backdrop.  We went to Mission Santa Ines just before the sun went down.  The lighting and mountains were gorgeous!  I learned that delicious props can be a very good thing to help children cooperate, but it's probably a good idea to make sure you are completely done with the "serious" pictures before you let the kids loose with the sticky and colorful lollipops!  Some of my favorite pictures were the candid ones while trying to make a perfect shot.  Such a fun family with a fun sense of humor.  They all love each other so much and there is never one minute of boredom!

At Thanksgiving, I got to take pictures of the Gutwein family.  I have known the Gutweins since I was in grade school.  They are like family to me and I loved getting a chance to take their Christmas card pictures.  I have said this before, and I will say it again, I am sure, but it's hard to take any bad pictures when your subjects are so good-looking!

Finally, I took some impromptu pictures of my cousins in Scottsdale on Thanksgiving day.  My cousins all have such unique and fun personalities.  I think their personalities really come across in some of these pictures.  I think they are the cutest kids ever, but I might be slightly biased.

And with that, I wish you all the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of new years.  I am eager to take lots more pictures in 2011 and continue to need a great deal of practice, so let me know if you need pictures!!
